This is only enhanced by the Bose Voice4Video, which allows total voice control over not just your soundbar, but also any connected TVs, or other devices. One of the unique features here is the upward-firing transducers that reflect sound off the ceiling, creating realistic overhead effects. The unit also boasts five total transducers, with two on each side, and one in the center for surround effect, and a crystal clear dialogue. The build is also about 27.3 inches wide, making it easy to fit under any TV. Design is a standout feature, as the matte-black top combined with the metal wraparound grille gives you a premium look and feel. And the Smart Soundbar 600 is one of the best gaming soundbars out there. When it comes to delivering great value for money, Bose stands undefeated. I just try to understand all this.$499 at Walmart $450 at Best Buy $449 at Amazon Sorry i dont know much about all this stuff.

Wouldnt it be more work for the TV processor to permanently compress native Atmos content to the other formats for optical? It seems to me the eARC route should - if anything - perform better?

I just dont get why there is lag when using HDMI eARC but not with optical. It seems like a processing lag issue from the TV itself. I already bought an HDMI 2.1 TV and an eARC capable soundbar to not have these kinds of issues and i dont see how any new sound solution will help me here.

when hdmi 2.1 becomes a thing we get to upgrade are audio also to be able to do the higher 4k with the good audio formats Optical cant do 5.1 or better just basic dolby surround and dts (just position the second screen like corner to corner so you dont accidentally lose your mouse pointer lol) the hdmi to sound bar doesnt even need to run a good res. when hdmi 2.1 becomes a thing we get to upgrade our audio also to be able to do the higher 4k with the good audio formats These types of audio signal formats require the use of HDMI connections. The types of digital audio signals that can be transferred by a digital optical connection include two-channel stereo PCM, Dolby Digital/Dolby Digital EX, DTS Digital Surround, and DTS ES.ĭigital audio signals, such as 5.1/7.1 multi-channel PCM, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos, DTS-HD Master Audio, DTS:X, and Auro 3D Audio cannot be transferred via Digital Optical connections. Optical cant do 5.1 or better just basic dolby surround and dts. I read somewehere in the LG Forums that this is a known issue with HDMI ARC but eARC was supposed to fix that.ĭoes this maybe have anything to do with the Sound Format?īecause when i'm using optical it wont use Dolby Atmos, but compress it to something else. With the optical i didnt notice sync issues. It'd be a bummer if i cant fix the Sound sync issue without losing the HDMI 2.1 seems the issue is only when using HDMI ARC. THE reason i bought the LG C9 and not one of the other OLEDS on the market is HDMI 2.1 for my next graphics card.

When I connect the pc directly to the soundbar and the soundbar to the TV i lose all these features.

I dont want to lose out on Features like ALLM (Auto-low-latency-mode) so i dont have to switch display modes each time i switch from game to movie or VRR (Variable refresh rate) for G-Sync. I know that no graphics card has HDMI 2.1 yet, but the next generation will.Īs soon as Ampere consumer cards are put i will upgrade. besides its better that way anyways.Īnd what do you mean HDMI 2.1 Features of the TV? no video card has hdmi 2.1 they are all 2.0 so 2.1 really doesnt matter unless your running lower quality 4k to get 120hz.

Your best bet is go source hdmi to the bar then to the tv (your bar has 2 hdmi ins). No you need hdmi 2.1 for higher resolution like 4k hdr 444 120hz.for audio it just needs to be hdmi (only select few tvs right now support future hdmi 2.1)Īs for the audio lag your tv is doing the audio conversion before sending to your bar.that is whats causing the audio lag
